Ala Italia

Newsflash! Many things have happened since my post about Venice. First of all, let me apologize for not updating. The internet in Italy wasn't very good. Besides that, it was also expensive. 5 Euros for an hour! That's almost daylight robbery!

Anyways, after Venice, dad and I went on a scooter tour in Tuscany for a week. In that week, we had 5 riding days. Everyone stayed in Florence, and did day trips out to Pisa, Siena and Mucello, just to name a few. We rode on the Vespa 300cc Super Sport. It was fun! We had a great group and a lot of laughter.

Dad and I even had to chance to see David!

Upon leaving Tuscany, we entered into Rome. Mum was already in Rome waiting for us. We spend about 4 nights there. We did the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Vatican, St. Peter's and all the other things people do in Rome. We also had a lot of gelato (ice-cream). My favourite is called Gelato Artiganale. Yum!

My favourite place in Rome.
Well, this and the Roman Forum.

The hustle and bustle of Italy's capital city made us grin from ear to ear, but we had other plans. We picked up our rented Ford Fiesta from Hertz and drove to the Amalfi Coast via Pompeii. Now, I had high hopes on Pompeii, but the weather was just scorching. After Pompeii, we drove to the Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast is on one of those "1000 things to see before you die", that was why I decided to take the family there.

This was how all these houses were built on the coast.

And, it is. It is beautiful! It reminds me of the French Riviera. But a lot steeper with narrow roads and crazy drivers. It's a sight to behold though. It's interesting how they sell wedding packages in the Amalfi like crazy. And almost everyday, you could see someone getting married. Hmm, it's nice to know love's still around.

After the Amalfi coast, we went back to Rome and flew home. Ah, you have no idea how much I've missed the friendly Malaysian attitude, the sound of people talking loudly in shops and the sheer smell of Pandan leaf. Dad and I ate all Malaysian meals on the way back via AirAsia. We ordered teh tarik too! Hehe, some things just aren't suppose to change.
