How to use Blogger, Facebook, Twitter in China

In Tasly Pharmaceutical Group's conference room.

As you all know, I am now in Tianjin, China. I was quite frustrated with the great firewall of China as it did not allow me to most importantly, blog. I actually found an alternative to blogging where I will email my blogpost directly from my email to my blog.

But I did not like the outcome, it came off as very unprofessional and unattractive on my website. Therefore, I told myself that I needed to find another way, as soon as possible. I went around on Google (which is allowed in China, by the way) to find out about proxies and VPN (Virtual Private Network).

China is pretty smart. They almost blocked all websites that has the word 'VPN' in the domain names. As for websites with free daily proxy addresses, I don't quite know how to use them. I tried following the instructions, but it was a little too confusing to me. But, if you do know how to use proxies, kindly look at WindTunnel.Com.

As for those who don't know much about proxies (like me!), I found out how to use the VPN. Like I've said before, all domain names with the 'VPN' letters in them are blocked. So, it was challenging to find one that allowed me to use and/or download a VPN software. Honestly, it would be easier to find VPN softwares and such when you're not in China. So, maybe you'd be interested in doing that if you're not in China.

But nonetheless, one was found! The company is called PackeTix.Net. It is a Japanese website and it's (my favourite internet word) FREE! So, what you do is, you go to this link, and look under 'Installation under ActiveX Control', and just follow the instructions followed. And of course, remember to accept all the terms and conditions.

PacketiX VPN Client Manager will then be downloaded to your desktop. Whenever you want to connect, just double-click, and you're done. It's basically simple and straight forward to use. There you go, go ahead and climb the great firewall of China.
